COP ANNUAL ASSEMBLY SATURDAY 11TH JULY, 2009 9.00 AM - REGISTRATION LION’S CIVIC CENTRE, SAN FERNANDO ALL ARE WELCOME COME OUT IN YOUR NUMBERS-662-1067
Hey, hope every thing's good, but anyway, my computer got aids a couple of days ago and instead of sending a "DO YOU LIKE ME" profile comment to a few persons, everybody got it, including you !!! which not suppose to happen !!!! so please delete it by clicking delete at the end of this comment, because it just not looking right, lol !!! oh yeah and this one too.
I THINK THAT IF THE UNCA WAS SO CONCERNED WITH NOT SPLITTING THE VOTES THEY SHOULD HAVE URGED THEIR SUPPORTERS NOT TO AND GIVE THEIR VOTE TO COP. WE WILL GET THEM IN 2012. LETS HOPE AIR IS STILL FREE TIL THEN
so every one it's all over now what are we the young people to do...... you tell me ...... we could have swing the vote in our way ........... but we did not 82% of people with the age of 18- to -27 did not vote so you tell me .... how did they say it ....... get it wet or vex .... and yer vex for the next 5 years ... some one Comment on this ?????????!!!!!!!!!!???????? help me to under stan this ????? i can't
Don't worry we will win next elections, hopefully by then those fools that voted otherwise will see what a horrid mistake that they made by putting corrupt, lying, cheating, dishonest, "teefing" people in government again. The amount of shit this Gov doing its sad to see how many brainless people vote for them. I can't tell you the disgust I felt. God be With Us Trinidad and Tobago, Hope enough of us live to vote next time... This is if we don't starve to death or worse.
I find it very stupid to say that COP split the votes. This country of democracy; people have a choice. Those who are saying "COP split the votes"..Do you all lack brain matter? Statistics show that for only four (4) constituencies the combination of both COP and the UNC votes would have resulted in the constituencies not going to the PNM. However the PNM would have still won because they would have gained victory in the majority of the remaining seats. The results MAY have been UNC - 19/ PNM - 22 had Mr. Dookeran allied with the UNC. I used the word MAY because who are we to make the assumption that the people who voted for COP would not have initially been PNM voters. This is utter rubbish what UNC supporters are saying about "COP split the votes". One should take into account that even though COP did not win a single seat, in many of the traditional PNM "sure-seats" COP got way more votes than UNC. Citizens who voted for COP didn't want their country back in the hands of a dictator(Manning) or a thief(Panday). Those of you who are saying that Mr. Dookeran should have forged an alliance with the UNC i would like to ask you all something... Would you go back to a person who has said all manner of vile things against you? Put yourself in Mr. Dookeran's shoes you would look like the biggest joke in the history of Trinidad and Tobago had you gone back to that power hungry, lying, deceitful man (Panday). The elections are now over, Mr. Panday is acting like a little child, blaming everyone besides himself. Yes, COP did not win a single seat but Mr.Dookeran and his candidates stood for what they believed in and got over 140,000 votes which is a quite a large number of the electorate. Those who voted for the COP I applaud you, you all were ready for change to make this twin republic a better place. To Mr. Dookeran I would like to congratulate him generously for standing for INTEGRITY, something that Mr. Panday neither Mr. Manning has or ever will have. I am only 17 and therefore was not eligible vote however my political views and affiliation lies totally with the COP. I think i speak for the majority of Lange Park residents when i say that COP is the best thing that ever happened to this country in terms of politics. Yes, we (COP) have lost this round, but strength of the COP lies in its ability to continue existing in the midst of adversity. WE STILL MOVIN' WITH COP!!! come next five years i hope this nation is ready for change.
To Sal and all UNC-A supporters, when will you understand that if you have 10 apples and 10 oranges they could never be added to give you 20. It is a very simplistic view to take that by adding the UNC-A and COP votes the PNM will have been defeated for many of us who support the COP would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER have voted for the UNC-A. Mr. Basedo Pandy should be ashamed of himself. After dividing this country along racial lines he has now succeeded in dividing the East Indian population amongst themselves as well.
I am proud to be a COP member and will vote for them again this second even if the outcome is the same. The fortitude shown by Mr. Dookeran, even in defeat, was an inspiration. He is truly a class act. The same cannot be said for Mr. Panday who spewed venom in defeat, pointing fingers at everyone except the real culprit, himself. He claims to want to unite the people of Trinidad and Tobago and only suceeds in dividing them further.
By his election speech, Mr. Panday has now alienated 75% of the population (PNM supporters, COP supporters, and ppl who did not vote), and I am unsure now how he plans to ever return to government following his words on election night.
i hope all of you people who voted cop is having regrets,....your vote was a vote wasted. a time for change....thats all you keep saying...but a change from what...?have you all analyzed this statement...? a change from the PNM government...you all say dookeran is d man...but yet he goes on the platform and does the same badtalking, name calling like everyother politician....so he hasnt convinced me....i think if he wants to become a leader he should crawl and fall like every other man did before they got their victory...dont expect to come and get victory just like that...you have to work for it...of course he has no record of bad doings because he has never been in the spotlight for long...so he has no political scars...unlike mr panday...and d most amazing thing is....how they say the country needs change but yet its only the unc population that ran towards the cop and not the pnm...they(pnm) kept their grounds and wasnt moved by dookeran....but yet they tried to split us(unc) up...and we fell for it and now we have to bear this pnm for another 5 years...i think if he had joined the unc-a we would have takin over government and both cop and unc-a members would be in parliament...sometimes u have to stupe to conquer...we wanted to unite and still we were fighing against eachother...a blind man could have seen what was takin place...you all bad talk mr. panday and i would always stand for him because he has helped our ppl in so many ways..ppl forget and my mother always say...always have gratitude...and remeber panday is only a man and not a god...he makes mistake and has shortcomings like each of us do...so d next time u vote...dont let the illusion of a nice statement fool u...you should analyze, criticize and be impartial before you make a choice
It is a sad day in T&T when citizens could plainly see the dishonesty, betrayal, deception, corruption, power struggle in political parties and still support them. From what I have understood living in Trinidad and Tobago, no matter how much people have suffered or been treated badly, once they have been given rum, music, fete and carnival parties, all is well and they will support the party that has given that to them. I have had to come to terms with the fact that there are those Trinbagonians who are narrow minded, stubborn and are ignorant to new ideas, even if it may save their lives. These are the people who cannot think for themselves but let their political idol think for them. These are the people that no matter how much they get kicked and betrayed by their idol, they will support their idol, no matter what. Because of these people, these foolish people, we, the ones who have seen the light, the ones who have understood this new progression and were willing to accept the help, now have to suffer for years to come. Tears flow from our eyes because we know what we have lost. In my religion, we have a belief that this world will be the heaven for the wicked ones. We have seen all that is wicked prevails. What we have to do, is pray. Pray that the day will come that these people may come to realize the truth and accept it. Pray that they will see reason. Pray that our leaders can be true and faithful to us. Maybe the COP wasn't around long enough. Maybe we (the COP) didn't get through to the people to make an impression. There were still a lot out there that didn't know anything about COP's proposals. Let us use this opportunity to grow and still spread the COP's name and agenda. Maybe after a few years people will realize the goodness that can come out of supporting the COP. Let's just give it time and pray, pray hard for ourselves and our country.
